Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Coaptiv (“Coaptiv,” “we,” “us”), the operator of coaptiv.ai (the “Service”). By creating an account, starting an exercise, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service.

These Terms contain an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver (Section 17) that affect how disputes are resolved. Please read it.

2. The Service

Coaptiv provides hands-on lessons and assessments in which you practice delegating real work to AI agents inside a cloud desktop streamed to your browser. The Service includes AI-generated scoring and feedback on your work, course progress tracking, and optional completion certificates.

3. Sessions are recorded

When you run an exercise, the session is recorded — including a screen recording of the streamed desktop and a transcript of your interaction with the AI agent. We use these recordings to score your work, to review results and resolve problems, and to improve the Service. By starting an exercise you consent to this recording. See our Privacy Policy for how recordings are stored and how to request deletion.

4. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in method (email magic link or a connected social account) secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Memberships & billing

  • Parts of the Service are free (AI Cowork 101 in full, including its certificate, and the first two lessons of each other course). The rest of the catalog requires a paid membership.
  • Memberships are $19.99/month and renew automatically each month until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize recurring monthly charges to your payment method until cancellation.
  • Billing is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • You can cancel anytime from your Account page (Billing → Cancel membership). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
  • Prices exclude taxes; where required, tax is added at checkout.

6. Refunds

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods. We may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund in individual cases — contact support. See the full Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Access codes

Promotional access codes grant complimentary access for a stated period. Codes are single-use, have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, and may be revoked in cases of fraud or abuse.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, or infringing on others' rights;
  • misuse the sandboxed desktops or AI agents — including attempting to attack other systems, mine cryptocurrency, send spam, or exfiltrate data from the sandbox;
  • circumvent the paywall, session limits, security measures, or scoring;
  • scrape, resell, or provide the Service to third parties, or share your account;
  • reverse engineer the Service except where the law permits it despite this term.

9. Your content

You own the work products you create in sessions. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process your session content (including recordings and transcripts) to operate the Service, score your work, and improve the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except as needed to comply with law.

10. Certificates

When you complete a course you may claim a certificate with a public verification page showing your chosen name, the course, and the issue date — never your numeric scores. Don't claim a certificate in a name that isn't yours. We may revoke certificates obtained through fraud, cheating, or abuse.

11. Our intellectual property

The Service — including course content, exercises, software, design, and the Coaptiv name and marks — is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms grant you no rights other than the right to use the Service as intended while these Terms are in effect.

12. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers (for example Stripe for payments and social sign-in providers). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account and data via support or privacy@coaptiv.ai; we fulfill deletion requests within 30 days. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service (with refunds of any prepaid, unused period in that last case). Sections 9, 11, and 14–18 survive termination.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Scores, feedback, and certificates are AI-assisted educational tools. They are not professional advice and are no guarantee of employment, promotion, or any other outcome. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — use your judgment.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coaptiv will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold Coaptiv harmless from claims and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

17. Disputes: binding arbitration & class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

  • Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, contact support and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally.
  • Binding arbitration.Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service that isn't resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be held in California or, at your election, conducted remotely.
  • Class-action and jury waiver. Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis. You and Coaptiv each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
  • Carve-outs. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
  • 30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@coaptiv.ai within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your account email and that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

18. Governing law, changes & contact

  • Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where a dispute is not subject to arbitration, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
  • Changes. We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice (for example by email or an in-product notice) before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
  • Everything else. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Contact. Questions? Contact support.
